Extraire, modeler, transférer, assembler, modifier, filtrer, imprimer, monter, exporter, encadrer : dominer.

Que devient le monde, l’art y compris, alors que nous assistons à « l’effondrement du fantasme de contrôle de l’humain » (Eve Seguin)? Que pourrait-être l’expérience de l’art s’il était créé avec le vivant non-humain ? Et si on l’écoutait, lui portait réellement attention et lui donnait le dernier mot, que serait le monde ?

L’oeuvre explore modestement ces grandes questions en remettant entre les mains de plantes le contrôle de leur propre représentation (image dans les écrans). Cette représentation est constituée de la rencontre de trois modes de capture d’image dont les niveaux de sophistication s’opposent : la photogrammétrie professionnelle (capture 3D) et par application gratuite et amateure, et la capture 2D par numériseur qui tente de s’intégrer dans un univers 3D. Ces rencontrent de classe d’images et d’univers dans une même animation propose le nivellement des hiérarchies pour redessiner nos relations et notre organisation.

L’oeuvre est une forme d’hommage à TV Garden de l’artiste Nam June Païk.

To extract, to model, to transfer, to assemble, to modify, to filter, to print, to edit, to export, to frame: to dominate.
What becomes of the world, including art, as we are witnessing ” the collapse of human’s fantasy of control ” (Eve Seguin)? What could become the experience of art if it was created with non-human people? And if we listened to it, paid it real attention and gave it the last word, what would the world be like?

The work humbly explores these big questions by handing to plants the control of their own representation. Three modes of image capture come together whose levels of sophistication are opposed: professional photogrammetry and a free and amateur app (3D capture), and 2D capture by a flatbed scanner that is embedded in a 3D software. These encounters of different image class and dimensions through the animations is an attempt to flatten hierarchies with the goal to redesign our relations and organization.
